Flood Updates:

From Mid-America (Iowa and Minnesota) Baptist Churches report

From our own American Baptist Disaster Relief Team by Mac Shotwell:

We have been on stand-by for help. Jack Smith and volunteers in Team One have responded to two calls in the Quad Cities (specifically Davenport and Rock Island/East Moline) and they are ready when more calls come in their area.

I have had communications with ABC leadership in Wisconsin and Iowa. If we are NOT needed in GRR some may want to consider responding to one of these needed areas. If so, please contact me and I will give you the particulars.

Also, copied below is the latest communication from Jack Smith to his team:

All need to heed the advice of Jack Smith contained in his recent update:

Anyone who works in flood releave should have a Tetanus shot. A Tetanus shot will last for 10 years. If any of you do not have one I would advise you to get one ASAP. When we go out you should have a pair of boots or heavy work shoes and good work gloves. We will have masks and plenty of drinking water.

As the waters begin to recede on the Mississippi, Illinois and Missouri Rivers, I am assuming there will be needs. If you know of some , let me (Mac Shotwell) know.
